WSIB Benefits: Non-Economic Losses & Loss of Earnings

Are you aware of benefits which you may be entitled to through WSIB ? Do you have a permanent injury which you must deal with on a day to day basis?

Non-Economic Loss (NEL) 

You are entitled to a “pain and suffering” or Non-Economic Loss (NEL) award when it is determined unlikelythat there will be anymore improvement in your condition.

Your permanent injury will enable the WSIB to continue to pay your ongoing benefits and, later on, reconsideryour award should you suffer a worsening of your physical condition.

Loss of Earnings (LOE)

If you have suffered a work – related injury and are out of work because of it with no present earnings you are entitled to Loss Of Earnings (LOE) benefits. These benefits are equivalent to 85% of your net average earnings and will continue during the time in which you are off of work and will continue during any type of WSIB – Sponsored training program. In order to continue payment of these benefits you must fully cooperate in a WSIB sponsored program.
