TORONTO: February 7, 2013 – The WSIB has been working to find faster, easier and more efficient ways for you to do business with us.
Working with partners like the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation (MEDI), the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), and employers across Ontario, the WSIB has made significant changes to the way we provide our services in an effort to find ways to reduce the amount of time you spend on WSIB paperwork.
As part of this initiative, we have recently introduced a number of changes to the way you can interact with us:
- A suite of online services has been introduced that enables you to file claims and report on your own time, 24/7, when it’s convenient for you.
- As part of this suite of services, we have reduced and simplified the information we need from you when you submit an electronic version of the Form 7 (Employers’ Report of Injury/Illness). With these changes, we have significantly reduced the amount of time you’ll spend submitting a No Lost Time Claim.
- Since the beginning of February, changes to the electronic Worker’s Report of Illness/Disease (Form 6) mean a more straightforward process as well, making it easier for workers to submit the details of their claim.
- We will be introducing a Teleclaim service later in 2013 that allows both employers and workers to submit both their lost time and no lost time injury reports over the phone, directly to a WSIB representative. This gives us a chance to answer any questions you may have, and helps to prevent delays by allowing us to confirm that we have all of the correct information we need in order to submit your claim.
- The Teleclaim service, along with the electronic Forms 6 and 7, and our Business to Business (B2B) claim reporting program, will provide you with different ways to report an injury or illness, depending on your needs. Combined, these services will allow us to cut down on the amount of paper we use, help us to move away paper forms by the end of 2013, and will reduce the amount of time you spend on WSIB paperwork. Rest assured that we will be here to answer any questions and help you move over to this new way of working with the WSIB.
All of these changes are being made to better serve you – Ontario’s employers and workers. By making reporting easier and faster for everyone, decisions can be made more quickly and we can help get injured and ill workers safely back to work faster.
